Pathogen Safety World Asia 2019

5 – 7 November 2019 | Singapore

It is a well-known fact that the biologic products are prone to be contaminated with bacteria, fungi and viruses. The contamination could be raw materials, improper handling of cultures and so on. Hence, pathogen/ safety or viral safety becomes very important when it comes to the manufacturing of biologic drugs.

Pathogen safety & inactivation methods in biomanufacturing processes are vital to prevent contamination costs in the development and manufacturing of biologic drugs.  It is very important to prevent contaminating pathogens introduced by raw materials into manufacturing processes, which could spoil batches or present a health risk to consumers.

Removing, inactivating or clearing the virus is an important step that is required in the late downstream processing of recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, plasma products and any tissue-derived products.  Mitigation and preventive measures help ensure the safety of therapeutics to be used as a life-saving treatment for patients.

This conference aims to bring key stakeholders working on viral vaccines (live and attenuated), recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, cell-therapy, blood products and other tissue derived products to discuss the key challenges that are faced in this space.
