The World Health Organization (WHO) has previously reported a mysterious outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan, China. It is suspected to be due to a new type of virus that belongs to the same origins of fatal viruses, SARS and MERS.
The first case of the outbreak has been reported since last month and has since then over 50 cases have been reported by the Chinese authorities.
The mysterious virus is first likened to fatal viruses such as SARS and MERS due to its pathogenic properties and is highly linked to Coronaviruses.
However, tests conducted by the Chinese authorities show that there were no signs that SARS, MERS, Bird Flu, Adenovirus, and other common respiratory pathogens are the cause of the new mysterious virus outbreaks.
According to the Chinese authorities, the mysterious virus causes severe illnesses but does not seem to transfer easily from people to people.
The WHO said that more investigation will be done to ensure that information is to determine the kind of pathogen and understand the epidemiology of the outbreak, to implement proper countermeasures against the virus and prevent future cases.
