1. What is the purpose of having the Asia-Pacific Vaccine Excellence Awards?
The Asia-Pacific Vaccine Excellence Awards (AVEA) seeks to recognize organizations within Asia Pacific region who have engaged in substantial efforts to innovate, optimize processes and uphold high level of efficacy, quality and safety in vaccine development and manufacturing. Nominations are free and open to all members of the industry. You don’t have to be a subscriber, an advertiser, a sponsor or a client of IMAPAC’s conferences to be nominated or to win.

2. What is the Judging Process for the awards?
Two rounds of call for nominations are conducted. Nominations are then passed on to the judging panel. The judging panel is made up of a team of 8 judges who assess the applications online, before making their final decisions on sub-category winners. Then sub-category winners/main category finalists will be announced to the industry and a voting process begins. The final main category winner will be determined via industry-wide voting over 2 weeks in and in the event of a tie, the judging panel intervenes to make the final decision based on the company’s track record over the past years.

3. How many years have the awards been held?
We have been hosting the Vaccines World Asia conference since 2019. Backed by overwhelming industry requests, we will be hosting the 1st Asia-Pacific Vaccines Excellence Awards in 2020.

4. What are the differences between sub- and main- category awards? 
The award categories are split into Main and Sub Categories. The sub-categories are awards recognizing companies for achievements in specific discipline and country, e.g. Best Prophylactic Vaccine (Approved or In Development) Award. The main category are awards that recognize overall accomplishments of the nominee companies across disciplines and whole Asia Pacific regions, e.g.  Best Pandemic Preparedness in Asia.

5. When are the winners announced? 
Sub-category winners will be announced on the 2nd week of May 2020 and invited to attend the award ceremonies and Gala dinner, and the main category winners will be announced during the Asia Pacific Bioprocessing Award Gala Dinner on 17 June 2020.

6. How will the award ceremony look like for subcategory winners and main category winners? 
Sub-category award ceremonies will be held during the 2-day conference of Vaccine World Asia 2020, and winners of sub-category will be awarded of Certificate of Excellence (picture of a previous conference below). Main category award ceremonies will be held during the Asia Pacific Vaccine Award Ceremony and Gala dinner on 17 June 2020, and winners of the main-category will be awarded of Trophy of Excellence (a past picture
below)
