Chinese authorities have reported the outbreak of H5N1 that killed over 18,000 chickens in a farm located in Shaoyang City, just 302 miles away from Wuhan city where the latest coronavirus is from.

The recent bird flu has been classified as highly pathogenic because of the high number of birds that died from it.

Although H5N1 does not transmit from human to human contact easily, several people that are infected by the disease can potentially be led to death as according to the World Health Organization, the rate of mortality after the infection is up to at least 60%.

So far no human infection cases are reported.
